About Dennis Dale Chapman, 82 of Lodi, OH passed away Friday, June 30, 2023 at Burbank Parke Care Center in Burbank, OH.
He was born in Geneva, OH on Nov. 3, 1940, son of the late Gordon and Arlene (Fellows) Chapman. Denny grew up there and graduated from Geneva High School in 1956. He served in the Ohio National Guard and the Army Reserves, and had worked as a truck driver for Martin Brothers Milk Haulers in Jefferson. He later was a Police Officer in Andover, and a Deputy with the Ashtabula County Sheriff's Department. Denny had worked for Kennedy Funeral Home in Geneva, and in 1981 he moved to Lodi to begin assisting the Parker family at Parker Funeral Homes in Lodi and Spencer. He retired in 2017, following 36 years of dedicated service.
Denny was a member of Harrisville Masonic Lodge #137 F&AM where he was Past Master, was a member and Past Patron of Lodi Chapter Order of Eastern Star, and was Past District Deputy Grand Master of the Ohio 20th Masonic District.
Denny always liked socializing with friends and family. He had an endless repertoire of jokes and stories, and had even appeared in an episode of the TV show, Unsolved Mysteries. He enjoyed golfing and camping, and helped out with the Cloverleaf Marching Band and Color Guard in their travels and activities, always answering any objections with "it's for the kids". He thoroughly enjoyed his involvement with his masonic brethren, always making time for lodge meetings and functions, and anyone who needed assistance in any way.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lois; children, Kelly (Daniel Moehle) Sokolowski, D. David Chapman of WV; step-daughter, Wendy Knox Rogers; grandchildren, Alexa, Eryka, Jakob, Lilly, Tyler, Melissa, Christine, Lashae, Theresa, Virginia, Danielle, and Matthew; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Kay (Jim) Hogg of North Ridgeville, Sally (Jim) Crowell of CO and his cherished companion, Cuddles.
