| About | Duane Lee Harrelson, 68, passed away on October 29, 2023, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born on November 9, 1954, in Portsmouth, Ohio, the son of William and Merebeth (Stroup) Harrelson. Duane graduated from Geneva High School. He was a member of the Local Union 245 for forty-five years and worked for numerous contractors; he ended his career at Koski Construction Co. as a Project Manager. During his retirement, he volunteered at the Hemlock Springs Golf Course. On July 2, 1994, Duane married his beautiful bride, Rose M. DiNickle; together they were blessed with twenty-nine years of joy and happiness. He was known to many as, "Mr. Fix It"; he could fix just about anything and truly enjoyed helping his family, friends and members of his community. He was a talented woodworker and enjoyed working on automobiles. Duane played softball in the Geneva Men's League and later in life he enjoyed golf and pool, playing in leagues for both sports. He is survived by his father, William; his loving wife, Rose Harrelson; his step-children: Sandy (Jeff) Rocco, Cori (Diana) Phillips and Kristal (Jeremy) Goetz; his step-grandchildren: Michael Rocco, Ann Marie Phillips, Cullen (Emilee) Phillips, Wyatt Goetz and Isabella Goetz; his siblings: Dennis (Carol) Harrelson, David (Chris) Harrelson and Shari (Kenny) Webster and his beloved dog, Katie. He is preceded in death by his mother, Merebeth and his loyal dog, Vinnie. The family would like to thank the staff at the Hospice of Western Reserve and the David Simpson Hospice House for taking such wonderful care of Duane; their kindness and compassion will never be forgotten. |
