About Charles O. Heibeck, 84, of Toledo, OH passed away May 20, 2007, at the Lutheran Home at Toledo. He was born in Perrysburg Township on August 11, 1922, to Charles Sr. and Ada (Long) Heibeck. Charles lived his early years in Genoa, OH and graduated from Genoa High School in 1941. Charles was employed as a Clerk for the CSX Railroad for 35 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Toledo Secretarial Society, co-founder of the Friends & Fathers of Retardation, co-founder of TOYHA and chairman of the Waite High School Hockey Club. Charles also was an assistant scout leader of the Raymer Boy Scouts and was active in the Raymer Cub Scouts. He served on the Oregon Truck Committee and led a fight to close Gessner Street, thus earning the "Mayor of Gessner St." name. Charles coached baseball little leagues at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in the 1950's. He enjoyed talking to his CB radio buddies and was known as "Charlie Tuna". Charles was also an avid Cleveland Indians, Browns, Cav's and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Surviving are his loving wife of 53 years, Dorothy; sons, Jeffery (Darla), Michael and Robert (Kathy) Heibeck, C. J. Honan; grandchildren, Sarah, Matthew, Luke, Bobby Jr., Stefan, Amanda, Brandon and Candice; great- grandchildren, Sean, Brandon and Anthony; sister, Shirley (Harold) Cutcher. Charles was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Elizabeth Young. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. where funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in Toledo Memorial Park. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Charles' memory are asked to consider the Lutheran Home at Toledo, Heartland Hospice, the Lucas County Community Residential Services, or the Children's Rights Council of Northwest Ohio
