Deborah Lynn McCormick ("Aunt Debbie"), passed away peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio on Wednesday, October 7, 2009. Debbie was born April 11, 1957, in Bluefield, WV to Robert and Juanita (Bridgeman) McCormick. At age 6 she moved to Genoa, OH and was raised by Lawton and Juanita (Bridgeman) Childers where after high school she went to Findlay College. She later started her career as a barmaid, which she loved to do. She was known as Aunt Debbie to everyone and she loved her family, friends, dogs, clowns, the circus, motorcycles and cooking for everybody. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her little brother, Timothy; her stepfather, Lawton Childers; stepgrandfather, Howard Lohr; her labrador, Jessica and kitten, Raspy. She is survived by her son, Matthew McCormick and his fiancé, Kristy Hayes of Toledo; sister, Laura (David) Dunbar of Maumee; brother, Robert (Michelle) McCormick, Melbourne, Florida; sister-in-law, Susan (David) Ferner of Northwood, OH; stepmother, Janis Childers and stepgrandmother, Elsie Lohr of Toledo; nieces and nephews, Michael, Stephanie, Ian, Megan and Christopher; special friends, Kenny, Lee Wetzel, Julie Price along with many, many others who knew her as "Aunt Debbie". She will be missed by her dogs, Lucky, Hobo and Puddles, as well as the whole East side. She is irreplaceable but she will be in our hearts forever. The family would like to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio located in Perrysburg, Ohio with special gratitude to Robin, Tammy, Stacy and Sue.
