About | Dolores E. Petonke, 85, of Fremont, died Saturday, November 26, 2005, at the home of her daughter, Nancy Dondero in Greensboro, NC. She was born in Clay Center to the late Arthur and Leora (Merika) Weise. Dolores was a 1937 graduate of Genoa High School, a homemaker, and an avid gardener who loved working with crafts. On March 2, 1946, she married her husband of 58 years, Edgar Petonke who preceded her in death. She was a member of St. Ann's Church and as a teenager, assisted with the construction of the Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto in Genoa, OH. She was also a member of the Fremont Federation of Women, a life long member of the Plant-and-Bloom Garden Club, and a founding member of the Pinochle Club. Dolores is survived by children, Nancy M. Dondero of Greensboro, NC, and Gary A. Petonke of Yonkers, NY, along with 3 grandchildren, Louis Dondero of Florida, Damien Dondero of North Carolina, and Charlene Dondero of Tennessee. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from St. Ann's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery Memorials in Dolores's name may be made to Hospice of Memorial Hospital or to Birchard Public Library.
