On January 19, 2010, Edward Otto Zunk, Jr., age 68, completed his journey to his Heavenly Father after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Clay Center, Ohio, on August 24, 1941, to Edward O., Sr. and Cecelia (Perry) Zunk. Living in Ottawa County all his life, he graduated from Genoa Area Local School in 1959. He worked for 30 years for the Ohio Department of Highways in Oak Harbor, Ohio, retiring in 1990. On June 25, 1960, he married Pauline C. Gregg and she survives. Survivors including his wife, Pauline C. of Oak Harbor: son, Wade A. (Colleen) Zunk of Celina, Ohio; sisters, Marcella (David) Scaggs of Clay Center, Ohio, and Leona (Roy) Baker of Fostoria, Ohio; and step grandchildren, Britney and MacKenzie Rosselet of Celina, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, half brothers, Walter, Elmer, John, Wellington, and Gilbert Newton; and half sisters, Violet (Donald) Helle, Helen (Everet) Pierce, and Betty (Earl) Brown. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 22, 2010, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Oak Harbor, with a gathering from 10-11:00 a.m. prior. A bereavement luncheon will follow the service at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the donor's choice.
