About | Gladys K. Peer, 92, of Elmore, Ohio, passed away Tuesday morning, June 19, 2007, at the Genoa Care Center, Genoa, Ohio. She was born in Curtice, Ohio, on November 27, 1914, to Herman and Catherine (Schmeltz) Porath. Gladys attended Genoa High School and worked on the family farm. She married Michael S. Peer at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Bono, Ohio, on August 12, 1937. Gladys was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a long-time homemaker and loving babysitter for many children. She was a 70-year member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Bono, where she was involved in many church activities including the yearly church festival. She is survived by her daughters, Julia K. Sisi of Northwood, Ohio, and Rebecca S. (Larry) Harsanje of Elmore, Ohio; grandchildren, Michael (Mandy) Sisi of Pensacola, FL, Trisha (Dr. Michael) Retholtz of Toledo, Ohio, Scott Harsanje of Columbus, Ohio, and grea-grandchildren, Brandon Sisi, Alexander Retholtz, and Anastacia Retholtz. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Michael; infant son, Bernard, and sisters, Thelma Zibbel, Sylvia Zibbel, and Mildred Stiller. The services will be private with no visitation. Memorials may be made to the church or the donor's choice. Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, Genoa, has assisted the family with arrangements.
