James L. Lentz, 74, of Curtice, OH passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2006, in St. Charles Mercy Hospital. He was born in Oregon on August 25, 1932, to Lawrence and Nora "Dolly" (Schardt) Lentz. Mr. Lentz was a 1950 graduate of Genoa High School. James was a life long area farmer. He was a member of the Ottawa County Farm Bureau, served on the Board of Directors of Luckey Farmers and was a sales associate for Garst Seed Corn. Mr. Lentz was also a driver for Schumaker BP Oil. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Church where he was a member for many years on the finance and festival committees and served as a communion distributor. He was also a member of the church's Bowling and Dartball teams. Jim was a 25 year member of the Allen Township Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Lentz loved baseball and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. James is survived by his loving wife, Maxine "Peg"; daughters, Becky Buffington, Barbara (Patrick) Brocki and Brenda (Guy) Clough; grandchildren, Holly, Kelly, April, Sara and Jamie; brother, Gerald (Jeanette) Lentz. He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Dan Lentz. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, on Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-9 p.m. Scripture services will be Thursday at 7:30 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Mt Carmel Church in Bono, Ohio where visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until service time. Interment will follow in Allen Township Cemetery, Williston, Ohio. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the American Cancer Society or Mt. Carmel Church |
