James D. Norwalk, 72, of Oak Harbor, formerly of Walbridge and Genoa, died Thursday morning, September 26, 2013, at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor, Ohio. James was born June 16, 1941, in Genoa, Ohio, to Ernest W. and Wilma V. (Weyandt) Norwalk and was a 1959 graduate of Genoa High School. He married Barbara H. Depew on December 27, 1975, in Elliston, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on April 15, 1999. James had worked 10 years at Harbor Manufacturing, at the Genoa Pizza factory, and lastly for 13 years as a mechanic for Truckstops of America retiring in 2005. James was a handy man and enjoyed repairing lawnmowers and bikes. He was an avid bird watcher and animal lover. He was a real "people person" and will be missed by many. He is survived by his brothers, Edward, William (Mary Virginia), and Merle (Florinda) Norwalk; 23 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary (Jim) Norwalk, and Patricia Norwalk; his daughters, Jamie (Carl) Eldridge, Barbara Hopkins, Linda Douglas, Juanita (Keith) Cowens, Ann (Ronald) Wright, Lynn (Mike) Davenport, Patsy (Matt) Haley, and Tina (Steve) Parson. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Debra Anderson, and brothers, Ernest Jr. and Charles Norwalk. Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, September 30, 2013, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio, where the service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2013.
