About | Jeannette M. Niehaus, 90, of Genoa died Wednesday morning, April 15, 2009, in Otterbein-Portage Valley Retirement Village, Pemberville, Ohio. Jeannette was born September 21, 1918, in Genoa, Ohio, to Ralph and Marie A. (Lenz) Welch. On October 27, 1942, in Genoa she married Ewald J. Niehaus, who preceded her in death July 9, 1993. Jeannette was a 1936 graduate of Genoa High School and a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Genoa. She was a homemaker with a lifelong dedication to her family and the family farm. She was a wonderful cook—especially her homemade egg noodles and sweets. She liked to read mysteries, work crossword puzzles, play the piano, and enjoyed playing Euchre and Pinochle with friends and family. Her survivors include daughters, Joyce E. (Thomas E.) Rea of Middleburg Hts., Marilyn A. Macomber of Columbus, Carolyn A. (William) Staib of Walbridge, and son, Harlan R. (Pamela) Niehaus of Charlotte, NC, eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Her parents, husband, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday, April 19, 2009, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Genoa, with the family present 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2009, in the funeral home with interment to follow in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. Memorial contributions for Jeannette may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ, Genoa, or Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. |
