John C. Myers, 87, of Genoa, Ohio died Saturday morning, January 20, 2007, in his home. He was born in Clay Center, Ohio on March 16, 1919, to John F. and Bess (Dryer) Myers. John graduated from Genoa High School in 1936 and on March 22, 1941, he married Dolores A. (Furstenau) in Williston, Ohio, and after 63 years of marriage she preceded him in death on November 29, 2004. John was a farmer all of his life and for several years he drove school bus for the Genoa Area Local Schools. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ Church of Genoa, the Genoa Grange, a past president of the Ottawa County Cattle Feeders Assoc., and a past Director of the Genoa Farmers Exchange. Survivors include his sons and their wives, Jerald J. (Barb) Myers and Gene F. (Barb) Myers, both of Genoa; six grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife and sisters, Dorothy Koester and Gertrude Archbold. Funeral services for John will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2007, in St. John's United Church of Christ Chapel, Genoa, Ohio. Visitation will be in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, Genoa, Ohio, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2007. Interment will be in the Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. The family suggests memorial contributions in John's name be to the church or the Allen-Clay Joint Fire District Station #3, Genoa |
