About | John F. Schultz, 18, a 2009 graduating senior of Genoa Area Local Schools High School, Genoa, Ohio died Saturday, May 16, 2009 from injuries sustained in an ATV accident in Sandusky County. John was born on December 18, 1990 in Toledo, OH, to Jenise L. (Johnson) Schultz and Frederick Schultz, and is the brother of Carly Anne Schultz. He was baptized and confirmed as a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Genoa, where his mother taught him and his friends their confirmation class. John loved working on the family farm with his dad. He also enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling and loved his family very much. John was actively involved in the Genoa FFA and was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Genoa. He started showing lambs through 4-H at the Ottawa County Fair at age 11 and was a member of the Genoa Jr. Farmers 4-H Club. He was awarded Reserve Champion as well as Super Sheep Showmanship Champion. He attended Solomon Lutheran School and played basketball. He played baseball in Genoa Little League and was an important part of the 13-14 year old travel team. John is survived by his mother, Jenise, father, Fred, sister, Carly, grandparents Charles Johnson and Alta Schultz. Also, uncles, Dana (Sandy) Johnson, Jeff Johnson, aunt, Luanne (Schultz) Duffey, cousins, Chris, Kelly, Jessica & Mackenzie Johnson, Bree, Luc, & Logan Duffey, as well as many great aunts, uncles, and extended family. Funeral services for John will be conducted at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, May 19, 2009 in St. John's United Church of Christ, Genoa, with burial to follow in the Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. Visitation will be conducted in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, May 17, 2009 from 5-8 PM and on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions, in John's name, be directed to Solomon Lutheran School or the John F. Schultz Scholarship Fund, C/O Genoa Area Local Schools Scholarship Foundation. |
