About | Lowell E. Bitter of Boulder, CO passed away on Friday, August 17, 2012. He was born June 6, 1945, in Genoa, OH. He graduated from Capital University and earned a Masters Degree in Physics from Purdue University, and worked as a process engineer with a focus on thin film coatings on glass applications. During retirement, he operated an airport shuttle van and managed vacation rental properties. He was very involved with Grace Lutheran Church in Boulder. Lowell is survived by his wife, Bonnie; daughter, Sabra; sons, Chris, Aaron and Phil, and grandchildren, Sage and Scottie. Lowell is also survived by sister, Carol and brothers, Paul, Willis and Ted. A funeral was held at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, followed by a memorial service at Grace Lutheran Church. A memorial service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, Pembervile Road, Perrysburg, OH on September 2, 2012, at 3 p.m. The family requests memorials be given to Fisher House Foundation, Inc., which provides housing to assist families of veterans with medical issues.
