Lucy May (Wight) Birtwhistle, 77, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday morning, December 2, 2008. She was born in Curtice, OH and graduated from Genoa High School in 1949. She was the youngest of 4 children born to William L. and Irma S. (Paulsen) Wight. She married her husband Don on September 2, 1961, and he survives. They met while working at Woolworth's downtown. She was also a waitress at White Hut and a trainer at the White Tower. She enjoyed fishing and traveling with her husband. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR, with her favorite driver being the late Dale Earnhart. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, George (Elizabeth) Wight; sisters, Mary (Bob) Ruddock and Myrtle (Duke) Sulewski. Also surviving are a son, Ernest (Susan) Wight and daughter, Cynthia L. (Hal) Diamond; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grand-children; nieces and nephews. Per her request there will be no visitation or services. Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home (419) 269-1111) is assisting the family. |
