About | Margueritte J. (Carr) "Boots" Sorrell, 79, of Walbridge, Ohio, died Monday, October 3, 2005, in Bay Park Community Hospital. She was born in Metamora, Ohio, on December 5, 1925, to Howard and Beulah (Smith) Carr. She was a 1943 graduate of Clay-Genoa High School where she was the salutatorian. She later married William D. "Hoss" Sorrell and he preceded her in death. She was a file clerk for Jobst Institute before retiring in 1989. She was a member of the Pythian Sister Auburn Temple 163 and the Northwood VFW 2984 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a parishioner of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Millbury. In her spare time, Margueritte loved to bowl, visit the casino's, tell jokes and was a repeat offender of sending in "letters to the editor." She was a vibrant person and cheered up all those around her, but most of all she considered herself very lucky. She loved and will miss her "boys", Damien, Clarence and Sweety Pie. She is survived by her loving daughter; Kathy (the Late Ian) Holter of Oregon, OH; grandson, Andrew (Tara) Snyder of Toledo, OH; great-grandchildren, Daniel Snyder and Aubrey Su Urbina and Jacob Urbina; brother, William (the Late Doris) Fondessy of Hickory, NC; sister in law, LaVerne (Jerry) Hunt of Walbridge, OH; her beloved nieces and nephews and special cousins, Louise (Don) Wisniewski, Doris Dunn, Jeff (Lynn) Smith, Amanda and Samantha Smith and the rest of the Smith clan. "You are all special." Also her living friends, Jean Freeman, Jan Sheldrick, Jane Wood and Elizabeth Blair. She was preceded in death by her husband, William; daughter, Suzanne "Su" Cherry; brother, Howard "Tiny" Carr, and best friends, Edna and Russ Bates Friends will be received on Wednesday, October 5, 2005, from 2-9 p.m. in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 701 N. Main St., Walbridge, Ohio (419-666-3121) where funeral services will be held at Thursday, October 6, 2005, at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
