About | Michele M. Mollenhauer, 59, of Genoa, OH, died Friday, January 13, 2012 in the Genoa Retirement Village, after a long illness. Michele was born in Toledo, OH on September 9, 1952 to Richard and Alice Maureen (St. Marie) Arndt. She married Fred Mollenhauer in Port Clinton, OH on April 27, 1972, and he has been at her side ever since. Michele was a talented interior designer, and for 10 years worked for Samsen Furniture in Genoa. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Genoa, where for several years she taught CCD classes for the church youth. Michele was a longtime volunteer for the International Services of Hope (ISOH), doing missionary work in Haiti and Honduras. Michele was very creative and enjoyed painting, but her love and attention was always centered on her children and grandchildren. Surviving her is her loving and dedicated husband, Fred, daughters, Shannon (Woody) Binnicker, Kristine (Bret) Hilbert, son, Nathan (Jeanette) Mollenhauer, 6 grandchildren, Olivia and Evan Guillebeau, Aiden and Ashlyn Hilbert, Marley and Myles Mollenhauer, brothers, Terry Arndt and Jeffery Arndt, and sisters, Nanette Mullins and Sheila VanDermer. Michele was preceded in death by her parents. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Michele on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 204 S. Main St. Genoa. Visitation will be in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St. Genoa, from 2-8 PM on Monday, January 16, 2012. The family invites everyone to a Life Remembrance service at the funeral home at 4 PM on Monday afternoon to share their stories. Interment will be in the Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. Fred and his family are so very grateful to all of the staff and aids at the Genoa Retirement Village for their care and love these past few years of Michele's illness.
