About | Patricia A. Carver, 76, of Holbrook (Jackson Township), died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2011, in the home of her daughter, Cheryl Owens, after being seriously ill for the past year. She was born April 22, 1935, in Martin, Ohio, a daughter of the late Edward Sr. and Leona Barrett Cornell, and had resided in Garrison, Ky., prior to moving to Greene County in 1992. Mrs. Carver attended Valley Chapel United Methodist Church at Holbrook. She was a 1953 graduate of Clay-Genoa (Ohio) High School. Mrs. Carver enjoyed sewing, crocheting and working crossword puzzles. A McDonald's Happy Meal made her day. On October 1, 1955, she married Norman Lee Carver, who died October 16, 1991. Surviving are two daughters, Debra, wife of Leroy (Jr.) McGlone of Holbrook, and Cheryl, wife of James Owens of Holbrook, with whom she had made her home since 2003; a son, Norman (Rick), husband of Lori Carver of Gibsonburg, Ohio; two brothers, Alvin (Ponch), husband of Emma Cornell of North Charleston, S.C., and Kenneth G., husband of Joyce Cornell of Williston, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are two brothers, Edward Cornell Jr. and Clayton (Babe) Cornell. |
