About Richard "Rick" E. Hosley, 64, of Millbury, Ohio, died Thursday, November 13, 2008, in St. Charles-Mercy Hospital, Oregon, Ohio. Rick was born in Toledo, OH, on August 2, 1944, to Robert H. and Mildred D. (Wolpert) Hosley. He married Karen A. (Porath) in Toledo on December 23, 1972, and she survives. Rick retired in 2006 from the Universal Metal Products Co. in Pemberville, OH. He had also worked for Industrial Die Systems, of Moline, OH, and had spent 25 years as a foreman with the Mead Paper Co. of Toledo. Rick was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War serving from 1965-1969. He was also a member of American Legion Post #324 of Genoa, OH, the V.F.W Post #7510, Clay Center, OH, a volunteer fireman for the Lake Township Department during the late 1980's through the mid 1990's, and a longtime member of First St. John Lutheran Church, Toledo, OH. In his free time, Rick enjoyed fishing, especially his annual salmon fishing trips to Olcott, NY. He also spent many hours rabbit, squirrel, and pheasant hunting with his longtime friend, Dick Pohlman. Sports were also one of Rick's passions, being an avid Detroit Lions and Tigers fan. Surviving Rick are his wife of over 35 years, Karen; children, Regina (David) Pieper of Anchorage, Alaska, Joel (Amy) Hosley, Weston, OH, Chris Hosley, Chicago, IL, Lori (Jason Hutchens) Hosley, Northwood, OH, and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral service for Rick will be conducted at 11 a.m., on Monday, November 17, 2008 in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Genoa, OH. Interment, with military honors, will follow in the Elliston Cemetery, Elliston, OH. Visitation for Rick will be on Sunday, November 16, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials in Rick's name, be directed to the Lake Township Fire Dept. or First St. John Lutheran Church
