About | Richard T. Morris, 67, of Amanda, Ohio, passed on Saturday, February 19, 2011, in Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster, Ohio. He was born October 18, 1943, in Toledo, Ohio, to Alvin H. and Louise M. (Cashen) Morris. On August 23, 1967, in New Baltimore, Michigan, he married Hilda E. Cannington, who preceded him in death March 15, 2007. Richard was raised in Genoa and graduated from Genoa High School in 1961. He served on the New Baltimore Police Dept. for six years as a sergeant and retired in 2004 after 30 years at the Cleveland Clinic as a cardio thoracic anesthetist. Richard was a captain in the U.S. Air Force and Reserves and served as a medic for nine years. He was a member of the Am Vets in Lancaster, Ohio. His hobbies included shooting and hunting, Corvettes, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and he enjoyed playing Euchre. Richard was a good friend to all and always had a joke to tell! He is survived by his daughter, Karla (Vincent) Perretta of Amanda, Ohio, granddaughter, Lauren Perretta, cousin/"brother", Tom Cashen, as well as numerous cousins and friends. His parents and wife, Hilda, preceded him in death. Visitation for Richard will be 12-2 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio, with the memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa, at a later date. The family suggests memorials to the American Legion Post 324 of Genoa or a Humane Society of the donor's choice. |
