| About | Ruth D. Fox, 91, of Harbor Hill Dr., Fremont passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at her home. She was born on January 19, 1921 in Toledo, OH, the daughter of Clayton and Clara (Good) Tuckerman. She was a 1939 graduate of Genoa High School. Ruth married Marion "Jerry" Ames on November 23, 1940 and he preceded her in death on July 29, 1968. She then married Louis Fox on February 7, 1970 and he preceded her on September 3, 1981. Ruth worked as a Bailiff for the Port Clinton Municipal Court and retired in 1971. She had also worked at the Erie Island Depot as a Clerk in the Personnel Department. Ruth was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a Volunteer for Hospice of Memorial Hospital for ten years. Ruth loved to travel, play bingo and spend time with her grandkids. Ruth is survived by her children, Cheryl Florian, Fremont, and Jerry Ames of Ohio; step children, Ann (Ken) Overmyer, Jane (Toby) Peck, both of Fremont, Teresa Wright, Clyde, Linda (John) Wonderly, Fostoria, Rose (Jon) Weiker, Ronald (Jennifer) Fox, both of Fremont; daughter-in-law, Elinore Ames, Port Clinton; 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Jerry Ames and Louis Fox; son, Dennis Ames; brothers, Gene and John Tuckerman; and sister, Betty Gahn. Visitation: Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home & Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH. Service: Saturday, June 2, 2012, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor H. Kearns officiating. Burial: Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorials: Stein Hospice or Trinity United Methodist Church. |
