About | Ruthann K. Smith, 59, of Genoa, Ohio, died Tuesday March 29, 2011, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. Ruthann was born in Toledo to Luther B. and Arlene V. (Rudes) Miller on June 21, 1951. She had worked for over 10 years as the secretary and bookkeeper for the Heritage Christian Church, Oregon, Ohio. Ruthann was a 1969 graduate of Genoa High School. Ruthann had many interests including traveling, especially to places like Frankenmuth and Mackinaw, and several Civil War battle fields. She also liked to garden, spending time tending her flowers. She sang with the church Worship Team and was very fond of the Beatles music. Her most loved time was when she was with her family. Ruthann loved taking her grandchildren, Jenna and Darcie, to the library, having movie nights at home, and making them cinnamon twists on special occasions. She is survived by her husband, John A. Smith, whom she married May 24, 1980, in Genoa. She is also survived by her mother, Arlene of Genoa, her daughter, Melanie A. (Adam) Badger of Genoa, granddaughters, Jenna K. and Darcie K. Goodman, sister Sandie (Walter) Davis and Cheryl Ranes both of Elmore, and her brother Luther "Luke" (Julie) Miller of Marion. Her father and grandparents preceded her in death. According to Ruthann's wishes, there will be no visitation and a memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Heritage Christian Church, 1640 S. Coy Rd., Oregon, OH 43616. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551; Ruthann Miller-Smith Benefit Fund, c/o Genoa Bank, 801 Main St., Genoa, OH 43430; or to the church. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Genoa has assisted the family with arrangements. |
