About | Victor W. Nero, Jr., 78, of Genoa, Ohio, died Wednesday, September 26, 2012 in the Genoa Retirement Village, Genoa. Victor was born in Clay Center, Ohio on November 9, 1933 to Victor J. and Elizabeth H. (Bertok) Nero. He was a 1952 graduate of Genoa High School and for 30 years he worked for the Libbey-Owens-Ford Co., in Rossford, Ohio, retiring in 1982. Victor was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Genoa. Victor enjoyed fishing, golf, gardening, raising fruit trees and was an avid bowler in his younger years. Survivors include his siblings, Paul (Patricia) Nero of Rossford, OH, Elizabeth (James) Cook, Florida, Rosemary Oliver, Sylvania, OH, Patrick (Barbara) Nero of Genoa, Susan (Jerry) Nero of Bowling Green, OH, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Joe Nero, and sister, Patricia Nero. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Victor at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 204 S. Main St. Genoa, OH 43430. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Monday, October 1, 2012 in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St. Genoa, A Scripture Service will be held in the funeral home at 7:30 PM Monday evening. Interment will be in the Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. Memorial contributions for Victor may be made to the Genoa Retirement Village, 300 Cherry St., Genoa, or Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E.
