Bernard Carl Williams, Jr., age 79, of Westerville, Ohio, passed peacefully on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Riverside Hospital after a long battle with dementia. Carl was born in Ieager, WV on October 3, 1937 to parents Bernard Williams, Sr. and Julia (Dancy) Williams. He graduated from Glenwood High School and attended Ohio University. Carl had a long career in sales. He retired from Reichold Chemicals in 1992 and went on to pursue many other employment ventures. His last position was with Safelite Autoglass as Inside Sales Representative. Beloved by many, Carl is survived by his loving wife, Linda; brother, John (Maura) Williams of Gainesville, GA; sons, Derek (Jacque) Williams of Lewis Center, Ohio and Kent (Becky) Williams of Westerville, Ohio; and daughter, Julia (Ron Heim) Williams of Powell, Ohio; cherished grandchildren who affectionately called him Grandpafather and Papaw, Wesley Williams, Jeremy Williams, Amanda Williams, Andrew McFall, Matthew Williams, Benjamin Williams, Tori Rudolph, Lucas Williams-Heim, Heather Eames, Katelyn Williams, and Taylor Williams; six great grandchildren; five nieces and six nephews. Carl is preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Newsome, and son Nathan Williams. He was a member of New Albany United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held at HILL FUNERAL HOME, 220 S. State Street, Westerville, on Thursday, May 18 from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2017. A graveside service will follow at Blendon Central Cemetery, Westerville, Ohio.
