Jimmy Bock, 52, a fixture in the Portage Lakes area, passed away January 31, 2017, losing a life-long battle with alcohol addiction. Jimmy grew up in the Portage Lakes and moved to West Akron for his senior year in high school to swim for Firestone High. They won the state swim championship that year and Jimmy has remained friends with many of those swimmers since. He graduated from Firestone in 1982 and then went to The University of Akron on a swimming scholarship. He graduated from the University in 1987 with a degree in communications. |
