About | Hinesville - Edna "Edie" Thatcher, age 40, died Saturday, January 10, 2004 at Liberty Regional Medical Center after a short illness. She was a native of Newark, OH, and lived the past seven years in Hinesville. She was a certified EMT and firefighter. She was employed at Dr. Leo Wills' office in Hinesville. She was a coach for the girl's softball team for Liberty County Recreation Department and also in Heath, OH. Surviving are her husband, Joel Thatcher of Hinesville; two daughters, Amber and Sasha Thatcher both of Hinesville; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Saylor of Newark, OH; one sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Frazee of Heath, OH; and one nephew, Justin Frazee of Heath, OH. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2004 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. Roger Wilkins offici ating. An additional memorial service will be held in Newark, OH at a later date. Remembrances are requested to the American Cancer Society.
