About | HOWLAND - Glenn H. Kell, 59, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at his home from an apparent heart attack. He was born June 18, 1952, in Warren, the son of the late Richard A. and Mary Lou Farrell Kell. A lifetime area resident, he was a 1971 graduate of Howland High School, where he was in the marching and concert bands. He received a bachelor's degree in history from Kent State University, graduating magna cum laude, a master's degree in history from The Ohio State University and an MBA from Ohio State. Glenn also graduated from the College of Advanced Traffic and was a member of Phi Alpha Theta honorary society. He was formerly employed by Thomas Steel Corp. and for the past 20 years has been a dispatcher for Falcon Transport Co. He was a longtime member of the Howland Community Church, enjoyed music, reading and chess and most of all was a loving son and a caring brother. Glenn will be sadly missed by three sisters, Katherine "Katy" Fessler of Lordstown, Melinda Kell and companion Richard Goddard of Strasburg, Va., and Molly Kell of Lynnwood, Wash.; four nephews, R. William "Bill" McConahy of Milford, Todd C. McConahy , Cody F. Fessler, Tracy C. Fessler, all of Lordstown; numerous cousins, beloved dog, "Buddy," and his cat "Smoky." There will be a memorial service at noon Saturday at the Howland Community Church, where friends will be received from 10:30 a.m. until service time. The Rev. Dr. Brian Byrne will officiate. Roberts-Clark Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.
