| About | John Thomas ''J.T.'' Radu, 22, of Girard, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, at Mosquito Lake State Park. A cause of death is pending. He was born Nov. 16, 1987, in Warren, the son of John Jr. and Aglaia ''Lilli'' Markopoulos Radu. J.T. was a 2006 graduate of Howland High School and had attended Akron and Kent State universities. He was a sales clerk at Havana House in the Great East Plaza and had been a martial arts instructor. He attended St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church and enjoyed hunting and hiking. He will be sadly missed by surviving family and friends, including his mother of Howand; his father and stepmother, JoAnne Radu, of Howland; sister, Juliana Radu of Howland; maternal grandmother, Antigoni ''Ann'' Leventis of Niles; paternal grandparents, John and Catherine Radu Sr. of Warren; uncles, George (Marilyn) Radu, who also was John's godfather, of Bainbridge and Kirk (Rachelle) Markopoulos of Solon; and two cousins, Nick and Noah Markopoulos of Solon. Preceding him in death were his maternal grandfather, John Markopoulos, and maternal stepgrandfathers, Heinz Ernest and Paul Leventis. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Demetrios Church, with the Rev. Costa Valantasis officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren, where a Trisagon service will be at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family requests that material tributes be made to the St. Demetrios Scholarship Fund in John's name, 429 High St. N.E., Warren, Ohio 44481. |
