| About | STEUBENVILLE - Nancy Kay Gober Walker, 47, of Steubenville, formerly of Warren, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at Trinity West Hospital in Steubenville following a sudden illness. Nancy was born June 16, 1964, in Warren, a daughter of Susan Roper Gober and the late Jerry R. Gober. Nancy attended Howland High School and was previously employed with Sorrento's Restaurant and John Schuster, DDS. For the past several years, Nancy was a homemaker in Fuquay-Varina, N.C., and Steubenville. Nancy's greatest joy and pride was always in being a mother to her children. They say that with a love that surpassed distance or circumstance, she was always a powerful presence in their lives. Nancy also had a great love of children in general and had a special affection for all of her nieces and nephews. Nancy was smart, witty and creative and had an unmatched sense of humor that will be greatly missed. Nancy's memories and bold spirit will be carried by her loving children, Teri S. Ham of Howland and Cory R. S. Walker of Fuquay-Varina, N.C. She also leaves behind her mother, Susan R. Gober of Howland; two sisters, Veronica Peyatt of Byron, Ga., and Elizabeth Wagner of Southington. Also carrying Nancy's memory are the nieces and nephews she so loved, and her partner, Timothy Eury of Steubenville. She will be met in heaven by her brother, Jerry "Rick" Gober; her sister, Kelly Johnson; and her grandmother, Edna "Gram" Roper. Family and friends may attend calling hours from 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, with funeral services to follow at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home. |
