About | Cathy Diane (Fincher) Schrader was born on September 23, 1955 in Akron, Ohio. She made her earthly departure on December 1, 2023 while surrounded with the love and admiration of her family. She was only 68. Our lives are forever changed with her absence. Cathy is survived by her devoted fiance, Timothy J. Buzzelli; her son Eric and daughter Angela (Ralph); Granddaughters who filled her heart with immeasurable joy: Gabrielle, Maya, and Dessi; her "FSIL" Mabel; Nephew Robert "Robbie"; Niece Shannon and her two children Kaeden and Kaitlin; Sister-in-Law Terry (James) and their sons Nick and Daniel; Sister-in-Law Kate (John) and their two children Mariah (Josh) and Nick; Brother-in-Law Tom (Dottie) and family; Niece Kelsey (Mert) and their kitties that Cathy adored from afar; her loving family in Alabama: Kelly, Erin, and her children and Grandchildren; Mindy, Mark, and children; Michael, Taylor and children; Katrina, Cathy's warrior sidekick who survived cancer just as she did; Montana and Ryan; dear friends Dinah, Laura, Bev, and Stephanie; her loyal dog Murphy and cats Linus and Tippy; and countless others whose lives were, undoubtedly, touched by Cathy's genuine kindness and compassion. She was preceded in death by and joyfully reunited with brothers Robert " Bobby" Fincher and Ronald "Ronnie" Fincher, mother Ilene Fincher and father William "Bill" Fincher, Uncle Horace Meeker, and Aunts Opal Meeker and Joyce Thornton. Cathy graduated from Kenmore High School in 1974. She enrolled into college in her early 30s and graduated from the University of Akron in 1992 with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing. She had a rewarding career as a Registered Nurse until she retired from Signature Health Care where she worked tirelessly, in numerous roles, for 19 years. Her respect for patients , unwavering beneficence, and the comradery with her colleagues are just a few reasons why she was well-respected and admired by those she mentored and worked closely with. Retiring allowed Cathy to do more of what she enjoyed most: spending time at home with Tommy and their pets; long conversations with her son; adventurous shopping trips with her daughter; keeping in touch with family near and far; and helping those in need by providing meals, clothes, and, most recently, Christmas trees, holiday decorations, and gifts for children. Cathy, you made the world a more beautiful place with your empathy, compassion, and radiant light. And just when we think the agony of losing you will never end, we'll remember your encouraging words: "This too shall pass". As per Cathy's request, there will be no funeral or memorial services. |
