Thomas Jeffery McCoy was born to Robert and Jessie McCoy on July 22, 1960. He grew up in Loveland with his brothers and siter:Terry, bill and Pam. Tom graduated from Loveland High School in 1979. After graduation, he attended Eastern Kentucky University for one year. From 1981-2003, Tom worked in the family business, Clermont Tire & Oil, where his big smile and friendly nature made every customer feel like a friend. Tom recently began working in the transportation department at Indian Hill School District where his outgoing personality made him a favorite among both employees and students. Tom Married Gayle Kuhn on August 18, 1990 and together they raised their four children, Julia, tommy and twin sons Robbie and Jesse. With the birth of the twins, Tom embraced a new "job" as a stay at home dad. He and the children were regularly seen around Loveland at the playgrounds, grocery store or just out having fun together. Tom had three great loves in his life: his family, playing softball and his beloved Bengals. He dearly loved playing softball. His teams were usually winning many trophies, but win or lose, Tom never lost his enthusiam or joy for playing the game. His softball days ended when his knees prevented him from continuing to play. As a long time Bengal seaxon ticket holder, Tom never lost faith or hope in his team. At every game, one could hear him shouting, "We're gonna win!" after the smallest Bengal sucess (at kick off or any first down). while tailgating or attending the games, he and Gayle were quite the stylish couple in the Bengal apparel. Rising to a physical challenge, Tom participated in a bike ride (MS 150) to raise money for multiple sclerosis and was in Loveland' Amazing Race for two consecutive years. He planned on competing in 2008. Hoping to set a good example for his children, Tom had decided to quit smoking and was proud that he had reached day 846 without smoking a cigarette. Tom was a loving husband and father. He shared his joy of life with freinds and a large extended family. His smile, huge welcoming hug and boistrious laughter were infectious. Everyone who spent time time with him came away a happier person. Tom passed away suddenly on January 15, 2008. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered by all that knew him. |
