| About | Lawrence D. "Polly" Davis, 65, of Mansfield, passed away Friday, November 1, 2013 at Hospice House of NCO, following a lengthy illness. Lawrence was born on August 9, 1948, in Stoddard, MS, to Mary Davis. He was a licensed paralegal. He enjoyed playing chess, cards, reading and football. He is survived by his daughter, Darlene Cockrell, of Mansfield; ex-wife, Eva Davis; 11 siblings, Henry and Burnell Nettles, Barbara (Provoski) Williams and Sharon (Leonard) Walker Jr. all of Baton Rouge, LA, James (Russell), David and Alvin Nettles, Charles Logan, Dorothy (Stanley) Hawthorne, Dianna Nettles, and Joyce Dorsey all of Mansfield; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; host of nieces and nephews including special nieces, Cutey (Quantina) Reese, La Kwana Williams and Lavonda Nettles; very special friend, Savanna Jackson; and special friend, Nancy Stewart Jones. Lawrence was preceded in death by his son, Darrell Davis; his mother and step-father, Mary and Joseph Nettles; his maternal grandparents, Walter and Bennie Davis Sr; two uncles, Roy and Bennie Davis Jr; and his aunt, Verlene Davis. |
