About | Brenda K. Campbell, age 57, of Candlewood Lake, Mount Gilead, died early Friday morning, September 30, 2011, at her residence surrounded by her loving family and friends following a courageous battle with cancer. On May 23, 1954, Brenda was born in Marion, Ohio, one of two children of the late Mayo and Naomi (Wright) Campbell. She was raised in Mount Gilead, where she graduated from high school in the class of 1973. Always putting the needs of others before her own, Brenda loved caring for her clients (who quickly became her friends) to allow them to stay in their own homes as long as they could. Inheriting the gift of music from her father, Brenda loved to sing and most especially with her friend, “Bake”, at parties and weddings. A woman of faith, Brenda enjoyed attending the services of her pastor, Donna Ball, and the Bible studies of her friend, Joe Graham. Well known for her “jungles, Brenda absolutely loved planting flowers and vegetables wherever there was an open space both inside and outside her home. For several years, she also enjoyed helping at All Occasions Florist Shop in Cardington. With her “bubbly” and fun loving personality, Brenda could light up a room with her “smile and laughter”. Having a heart of gold, Brenda wanted to help everyone and no one was ever surprised when “she took in strays, both two-legged and four-legged. Brenda will be dearly missed by her children: Aaron (Amy Lee) Clark of Edison, and Erica Clark of Mount Gilead; six grandchildren: Kylee, Danessa, and Jillian Clark, Brandon, Rachelle, and Chandler Evans; her brother, Johnnie (Becky Kilgour) Campbell of Mount Gilead; countless dear friends and one who has been by her side every step of the way, Laura Young. Brenda’s family and friends are invited to observe a simple service of thanksgiving for her life on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. at the Rivercliff Cemetery where her cremains are to be buried, with Pastor Donna Ball officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Morrow County, 228 South St., Mount Gilead, Ohio 43338, or to the Kidney Foundation of Ohio, 2831 Prospect Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44115.
