About | Lisann Boehm, age 67, of Mount Gilead, died peacefully on Wednesday morning, October 26, 2022, at the James Cancer Center at Ohio State University with her loving family by her side following her second courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. On July 15, 1955, Lisann was born at Morrow County Hospital in Mount Gilead, Ohio, the younger of two children of Beverly Jean “B.J.” (Myers) Campbell and the late Richard Dean “Dick” Campbell. She graduated from Mount Gilead High School in the class of 1973. She shared a love for singing with four of her classmates: LuAnn Davis Lubell, Betsy Galleher Anderson, Beth Ann Kreider Marchant, and LuAnn Brown Jones; who performed together as a group called Rainbow Sherbert throughout Morrow County and the surrounding areas. They shared a lifelong bond, still connecting on Zoom every Tuesday night to remain close. During high school, Lis was talked into singing in a musical at Pleasant Grove Church of Christ, where she became acquainted with a young gentleman from Northmor High School, Earl Frederick Boehm. From there, the rest is history. They were married two years later, on August 4, 1974, shortly after she earned her Licensed Practical Nursing degree from Marion Technical College in Marion. Lisann’s nursing career started at Morrow County Hospital as an LPN. In the 1990’s, she also earned her registered nursing degree. During her 40 plus year nursing career, she “cared for a lot of people in a lot of places.” She worked at several hospitals and home health care agencies, with her last stop being at Riverside Methodist Hospital, from where she retired in 2020 after 12 years there. Lis shared a special relationship with her co-workers, many of whom shared how much they learned from her and how great a mentor she was. Very faithful, Lis was an active member of the Mount Gilead Church of Christ, where she volunteered in their food pantry, helped decorate the entrance with flowers, and donated handmade cards to share with their members. She also volunteered at Heartbeat of Morrow County. Lisann was a prolific birder, not to be confused just being a bird watcher. She traveled all over the country and all over the world to see as many different species of birds as possible, and her life count of different species was close to 800. She inherited this love for birding from her parents, who worked at a bird sanctuary during their winters in Florida. Lis and B.J. would often bring their “Bird dog”, Earl, on their birding adventures to birding festivals, birding cruises, etc., he never knew what type of bird he was looking at, but he had an eye for spotting them. While Earl embraced Lis’s love for birding, she encouraged his love for fishing. She especially loved joining Earl on his trips to Brennan Harbour in Canada. They also shared a love for Pokémon, and made lasting friendships all over the world through their Pokémon adventures. In Lis’s younger days, she was an avid bicyclist, going on many 100 mile bike riding tours. She shared this love with her sons, Cris and Branton, on shorter rides. She also loved visiting Branton out in Seattle, Washington, always appreciating the beauty and sometimes hiking on “her mountain”, Mt. Rainier. When Lis wasn’t on her many adventures, she always kept busy crafting, making countless scrapbooks to share with her family and friends. She also loved making handmade cards for any and all occasions and tending to her flower gardens, keeping them looking as immaculate as possible. Lis will be remembered for her heart of gold, always putting the needs of others before her own. She especially overflowed with love for people with disabilities, who would gravitate towards her, and whom she loved to help. Her proudest achievement in life was helping care for the many disabled children in the Eckfeld family in Lancaster, Ohio, who adopted and cared for those who were most in need. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Earl Boehm of Mount Gilead; two sons: Cristopher (Sarah) Boehm of Delaware, and Branton (Lee Donohue) Boehm of Sacramento, CA; three grandchildren: Ethan, Aubrey, and Harper Boehm; her mother, Beverly “B.J” Campbell of Marion; a brother, Rick (Ann) Campbell of Newark; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Her family will greet friends from 4 – 7 PM on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Craven Chapel, 67 N. Main St., Mount Gilead. Services honoring her life will also be held there at 11 AM on Wednesday, with Pastor Doug Bryan officiating. For those unable to attend, her services will be live-streamed via the Snyder Funeral Homes, Craven Chapel, Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/MtGileadSFH). The live feed will start appx. ten minutes prior to the start of the service. Burial will follow in Rivercliff Cemetery in Mount Gilead. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartbeat of Morrow County, and they may be sent to the funeral home.
