About | Lorna Joan Wigton, 44, of Washington, Georgia died February 3, 1999, at her residence. She was born January 10, 1955, in Mt. Gilead, the daughter of Atlee and Margery Joan Wigton. She was teaching special education at the Washington-Wilkes Primary School. She was a graduate of Mt. Gilead High School and Cedarville College, where she received her B.A. in Education and was a member of the Alumni Association. She had attended Ohio State University, where she studied special education in kindergarten and attended the University of Georgia and Augusta College, where she studied special education. At the time of her death, she was survived by her mother; a brother, Lyle Wigton, of Margate, Florida; two sisters, Cheryl (Timothy) Myers of Wichita, Kansas and Sharon (Jerry) Philbrook of Phnom Phen, Cambodia; two nieces and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her father. Funeral arrangements were handled by the Hopkins Funeral Home in Washington, Georgia. Burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Washington, Georgia.
