About Raymond A. Baker Jr., age 50 of Mount Gilead died Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Ohio State Medical Center. He lost his lifelong battle with lymphedema and alcoholism when a golden heart stopped beating in a gentle giant. Raymond was born on June 14, 1966 to Raymond Baker Sr. of Sharon, PA and Ramona (Blunk) Littell of Cardington. Raymond was a mechanic for Firestone in Columbus. He loved spending time with his kids. Raymond enjoyed watching the Reds, Browns, and Cavaliers, fishing, drag racing, playing World of War Craft games and playing cards with his friends. He was an OSU Buckeye Fan and was a concert goer, especially to Kiss Concerts. In addition to his parents, Raymond is survived by his children: Brittney (Dawn) Baker of Mount Gilead, Brooke Baker of Cardington and Garrett Ray of Galion; step-father, Robert Littell Sr.; two brothers, Randall Baker of Orlando, FL and Robert (Betsy) Littell and their children, Keana & Hawke Littell of Mount Gilead; a sister, Monica Heath of Columbus; Aunts: Linda Blunk, Karen Vowell both of Mt. Gilead, Jan, Laurie, and Barb Baker all of Miami, FL; and special friends, Jodi Bigler and Spencer Bennett. Raymond was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Ted Heath, grandmother, Lenah Vowell, uncle, Larry Blunk, and a close friend, Terry Coots. A celebration of Ray's life will be observed on Saturday, July 9, 2016 beginning at 1:00 pm at the VFW Post #8054 in Mount Gilead. Those attending are asked to wear the sportswear of one of Ray's favorite teams. Either the O.S.U. Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Reds or the NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers. And don't forget to bring your fishing pole to enjoy Ray's favorite pass time fishing. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider the Baker family to assist with funeral expenses or the Lymphedema Society.
