About | Audrey J. Akers, 68, of Bellefontaine, died at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, in Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born in Champaign County on Jan. 11, 1934, a daughter of the late Ralph and Maggie Mougey Davis. She was married to Hatler "Rabbit" Akers and he preceded her in death March 2, 2002. She also was preceded in death by one son, Steve Akers; two brothers, Emory and Virgil Carson; and one sister, Frances Edwards. She is survived by two sons, Jim (Carrie) Akers of DeGraff and William (Debbie) Akers of Bellefontaine; four daughters, Janice Lambert of Bellefontaine, Linda Akers Cook of Eufaula, Ala., Lori (Gary) Green of Fredericksburg, Va., and Garnet (Mike) Alley of Lucasville; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Barbara Weymouth of Odessa, Texas. The 1952 graduate of Piketon High School was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Eagles and a former member of the Nazarene Church. She worked as a cook for the Summer Foods program and Logan County Head Start. |
