About | Betty Ruth Martin, 79, formerly of Hebron, OH, and more recently of Piketon, OH, died Thursday, October 16, 2003, at Pleasant Hill Manor, in Piketon, OH. She was born March 6, 1924, in Jasper, OH, the daughter of the late Henry and Bertha (Scott) Birkhimer. On April 20, 1946, she was united in marriage to Fred W. Martin, who preceded her in death on June 30, 1985. Surviving are one son, Jack (Mary Ellen) Martin, of Frankfort, OH; two granddaughters, Janelle L. Martin and Linsey L. Martin; and two sisters, Clara Mustard, of Waverly, OH, and Thelma Wolford, of Dayton, OH. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by four brothers, Sherman, Harvey, Delbert and Paul Birkhimer; and two sisters, Dessie Davis and Della Peters. Betty was a homemaker, a member of Piketon-Jasper United Methodist Church in Piketon, OH, and a 1941 graduate of Piketon High School. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2003, at Howe Wheeler Boyer Hornback Funeral Home, in Piketon, with Rev. John Richards officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery, Piketon, OH. Friends may call at the Howe Wheeler Boyer Hornback Funeral Home, Piketon from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday (today) and from noon until time of the service on Saturday.
