About Carl L. Scaggs, 75, of Waverly, Ohio died 7:25 a.m. Saturday at his home.
He was born 6 August 1940 in Waverly, Ohio, the son of the late Homer Scaggs and Marjorie May (Downey) Scaggs. On 16 August 2001 Carl was united in Marriage Joyce Ann (Bryant) Scaggs, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Kendall Scaggs and wife Michelle of Beaver, Ohio and Lyndon Scaggs and wife Kathy of Columbus, Ohio, thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, two stepsons, Jeffrey and Barry Tomlin, three stepdaughters, Annette Pinkerton, Deborah Smith and Deandra Southworth, four brothers, Norman Scaggs and wife Betty of Kettering, Ohio, Homer "Jack" Scaggs and wife Georgia of London, Ohio, Larry Scaggs of Waverly, and Roger Gale Scaggs and wife Candy of Beaver, two sisters: Joan Teeters and husband Larry of Waverly, and Bonnie Sparks and husband Gary of Waverly.
Carl attended the Givens Chapel Christian Union Church, was a retired District Manager for the Bureau of Unemployment and a farmer.
He was a member of Orient Lodge #321 F&AM, Waverly, American Legion Merritt Post #142, Waverly and Chapter #4 Royal Arch Masons, Chillicothe, Ohio and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
His parents, and two sisters, Barbara Ellen Echard and Brenda Scaggs and a stepson, Randy Tomlin, preceded Carl in death.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, 25 August 2015 at the BOYER FUNERAL HOME in Waverly with Pastor Jerry Mullins, officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery, Piketon, Ohio with military graveside services by American Legion Merritt Post #142, Waverly.
Friends may call at the Boyer Funeral Home from 5 – 8 p.m. Monday, 24 August 2015 and from 9:00 a.m. until the service hour on Tuesday.
Masonic services will be held 7:00 p.m. Monday, 24 August 2015 by Orient Lodge #321 F&A Waverly.
