| About | Portsmouth Daily Times (OH) - Tuesday, August 4, 2009 Danny Ray Reno, 38, of Rarden Creek Road, passed from this life Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus because of internal injuries sustained from an ATV accident. He was born April 10, 1971, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to Arlene Faye Mustard Reno of Lucasville, Ohio, and the late Arizona Wade Reno. Surviving are his wife, Latricia Dawn Smith Reno; precious daughter, Amber Lynn Reno, 12; cherished son, Dylan Wade Reno, 8;, beloved stepson, Eric Tyler Perdue, 12; two brothers, Darrell Wade Reno and Donald Dale (Mildred) Reno, both of Lucasville, Ohio; two sisters, Sharon Sue Smith of Chillicothe, Ohio, and Dianne Lynn (Carl) Cannon of Waverly; brother-in-law, Dustin Landon Smith of Rarden; and mother-in-law, Janice L. Smith of Rarden. Danny was a faithful 20-year employee of Time Warner Cable Company. He was a devoted husband and father. His compassion and caring of others was demonstrated on a daily basis as he made himself available 24/7 to assist a neighbor, family, or friend in need. He loved his wife and children and gave unselfishly to provide for them. Dan is known best for his beautiful contagious smile and sense of humor. Dan was an avid race car fan, and fulfilled his lifelong dream of driving race cars at local dirt tracks over the last six years. He placed great value on his many close friendships, and newly formed friendships acquired while racing. Dan will be sadly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly, with Barry Penn, minister, officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Olive Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to establish an Annual Memorial Race in Honor of Danny.
