| About | Herald, The (Circleville, OH) - Thursday, December 10, 2009 Dennis Darrell Smith, 59, of Ohio died Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at Mount Carmel West Medical Center in Columbus. He was born December 5, 1950, in Portsmouth, the son of Ruth Marie (Deacon) Kohser of Waverly and the late Berlin Ray Smith. On August 29, 1970, he was united in marriage to Beaulah Louise Hartsock Smith, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Denny Ray Smith and wife Kimberly of Ashville; one sister, Deborah Kay (Smith) Mott and husband Eric of Reynoldsburg; two brothers, Kenneth Ray Smith and wife Susan of Piketon, and Allen Dale Smith and wife Iona of Piketon; his mother-in-law, Alta Hartsock of Piketon; five sisters-in-law, Wanda Brenner of Columbus; Judy Foster and husband Karl of Lucasville; Deloris Kay Lee and husband Larry of Ashville; Glenda Ward and husband Larry of Gallipolis; Janie Hardin and husband Frank of Piketon; three brothers-in-law, Tom Hartsock and wife Bena of Pikeville, Ky.; Harry Hartsock and wife Beth of Waverly; Gary Hartsock and wife Tona of Piketon; four grandchildren, Erin Elizabeth Smith, Kassidy Danielle Smith, Anna Caroline Smith and Lee David Paul Campbell as well as several nieces and nephews. Darrell was employed by PDQ-TL Express of Grove City. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, December 11, 2009, at the Boyer Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Roger Hauck officiating. Burial will follow in Harmon Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and one hour before the service on Friday. |
