| About | Donald A. Pettit, 88 of Elizabeth Lane, Waverly, Ohio died 11:34 p.m. Thursday, 3 December 2015 at his Home. He was born 1 March 1927 in Piketon, Ohio the son of the late Ray E. Pettit and Leta Mae (Anderson) Pettit. On 8 May 1948, Don was united in marriage to H. Kathleen (Preston) Pettit who preceded him in death on 6 December 2006. Don is survived by several nieces, nephews and special caregiver, Dana Minshall. Don was a retired District Manager for The Bureau of Workers Comp, Portsmouth Office, veteran of WW II having served in the U.S. Army in Italy, member of Orient Lodge #321 F&AM. Waverly, member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Columbus, Ohio member of Aladdin Shrine, Columbus, member of American Legion Merritt Post #142. Waverly and a member of the Pike County Shrine Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers; Glenn Pettit and Don's twin brother, Ronald Pettit and four sisters; Ella Jane Legg, Leta Jean Fenner, Rita June Pettit and Reva Holbrook. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, 8 December 2015 at the BOYER FUNERAL HOME, 125 West Second Street, Waverly, Ohio with Pastor Gary Pack, Officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery, Waverly with military graveside services by American Legion Merritt Post #142, Waverly. Friends may call at the Boyer Funeral Home on 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
