About | Eileen M. "Maggie" Cutlip, 88, of Springfield, went to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 in Oakwood Village. She was born on December 20, 1923 in Vansant, Virginia, the daughter of Everett and Edna (Viers) Looney. Her family moved from Virginia to Pike County when she was an infant. She graduated from Piketon High School class of 1942. Maggie moved to Springfield in 1947 and began working at Robbins and Myers and left there to start her family. She was a caring and nurturing mother and homemaker. Maggie returned to the workforce in 1964 for General Motors retiring in 1985. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, and traveling. She was a longtime member of Grace Bible Church and loved to serve others. Her husband, William Cutlip preceded her in death in 1988 and they were married for forty-one years. She is survived by her one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Sheila Cutlip of Springfield, one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Randy Ark of Springfield, four grandchildren and their spouses: Dusty Cutlip, Nathan (Laura) Ark, Kara (Billy) Thomas, and Matthew Ark; one great granddaughter, Morgan Ark, two sisters and a brother-in-law: Della Dunham and Elsie and Don Knotts; two brothers, Art Looney and John Looney all of Springfield, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Faye Emmons, and one brother James Looney. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, May 18, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME where a celebration of her life will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Marv Wiseman officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Burial Park. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Oakwood Village for the care shown to Maggie. |
