| About | Harold Junior Blakeman, 86, of Long Fork Road, Piketon, Ohio died 3:40 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2009 at the Pike Community Hospital, Waverly, Ohio. He was born June 22, 1923 in Piketon, Ohio the son of the late James Blakeman and Rose (Sweeney) Blakeman. On September 23, 1967 Harold was united in marriage to Phyllis Jo (Hinshaw) Blakeman who survives. Also surviving are two sons: Dale (Becky) Blakeman of Waverly, Ohio and Dean (Cathy) Blakeman of Piketon, Ohio; two daughters: Roseanne (Jim) Rexroad of Piketon, Ohio and Joy (Kenneth) Howard of Chillicothe, Ohio; ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one brother: John (Angela) Blakeman of Chillicothe, Ohio; two sisters: Betty Day and Lucille Gibson both of Piketon, Ohio; mother-in-law: Jessie Hinshaw of Piketon, Ohio; several nieces, nephews, including a special niece: Diana Leslie and a good friend: Delbert Gilliam. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Carl, Sam, Elmer and William Blakeman; and one sister: Nellie Ferrell. Harold was a retired sheet metal worker for Local #98, Columbus, Ohio, Veteran of WW II having served in the U.S. Navy, member of the American Legion Merritt Post #142, Waverly, Ohio and V.F.W. Post #2832, Piketon, Ohio . Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at the Howe Wheeler Boyer Hornback Funeral Home in Piketon, Ohio. Burial will follow in Gardner Cemetery, Waverly, Ohio, with graveside military services being conducted by the American Legion Merritt Post #142.
