About | Jack James Steffy, went home peacefully to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday April 6, 2011, surrounded by his family. Jack was born August 14, 1936 in Lebanon, Ohio, son of the late Herbert Harry Steffy and Verna Lee Brandenburg Steffy. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Jewell Flannery Steffy and their four children, a son, Jaime (JoAnn) Steffy; three daughters, Lynette (Dan) Evans, Jeanne (Steve) Cisco and Glynna Henry (Tommy Brewster). Also surviving Jack are eight grandchildren, Audra (Tyler) Gullion, Carey (Eric) Slone, Brian (Brooke) Steffy, Elisa Evans (Billy Gullion), Brad Evans, Paige Cisco, Drew Henry and Aaron Henry, four beautiful great grandchildren, Levi Gullion, Luke Gullion, Kiley Slone and Lexi Slone; two brothers, Wilmer Steffy and Jerry Steffy and a sister, Jewell Ballew, as well as many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, a brother, Charles Steffy preceded Jack in death. Jack began his working career at Mead Research immediately after graduation from Piketon High School in 1954, retiring in 1998. Jack also worked as owner/operator of Flannery's Grocery with his wife, Jewell, for many years. Jack loved his family and friends, which was apparent by all who had the privilege of knowing him. But throughout his life, Jack's first love was always the Lord Jesus Christ, and his faith in God will be his greatest gift to his wife, children and grandchildren who survive. Jack will be missed and cherished by all of us who knew and loved him. Private graveside services are to be held Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the Mound Cemetery in Piketon, Ohio.
