About | John Allen Leslie, 62, of Piketon, Ohio died Saturday January 2, 2010, at his home. He was born December 13, 1947 in Piketon, son of Ruby Elizabeth Mossbarger Leslie and the late Frederick Edward Leslie. Also surviving is John’s wife of 41 years, Jo Ellen Reeves Leslie, two children, Deborah Ellen Wilson of Los Angeles, California; Stephen James Wilson and wife Kim of Peebles, Ohio; granddaughter, Ashley Lynn McNeilan and husband Terry of Peebles; three great grandchildren, Owen, Aron and Makayla MeNeilan; three brothers, Ira E. Leslie and wife Patricia; Edgar Oren Leslie and wife Pamela; Robert R. Leslie and wife Diane all of Piketon, and two sisters, Ivy Day and husband Vernon and Linda Moore and husband Larry of Piketon. John was the owner/operator of John Leslie Bulldozing, Home Sales and Land Development, and partner in Cabin Creek Properties. He was U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam Era, and attended Bethel Chapel Church of Christ in Christian Union. Community, friends and his loving family will treasure their memories of this man, who was as solid as the earth he worked, and as tender in his heart to all he met. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the Bethel Chapel Church of Christ in Christian Union, with Rev. Larry Moore and Rev. Richard Humble officiating. Burial will follow in Leslie Family Cemetery, Piketon, with military graveside services conducted by American Legion Merritt Post 142, Waverly. Friends may call at Boyer Funeral Home in Waverly, Ohio from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday.
