| About | John Franklin Barlow, 46, 0f Hackworth Hill Road, Otway, died Thursday at Southern Ohio Medical Center, Portsmouth. He was born August 13, 1953 in Portsmouth the son of Gilbert Barlow Jr., and Jean Smith Barlow of Piketon. He was a guard at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility at Lucasville, and accepted Christ as his Savior several weeks prior to his death. He is survived by his wife Susan Harr Barlow whom he married June 7, 1975, three sons; John (*Candy) Barlow of McDermott, Joey (Tonya) Barlow of Piketon and Jerry Barlow of Otway; two grandchildren’ Taylor Barlow of McDermott and Steven Ray of Piketon; his grand-mother, Goldie Smith of Chillicothe; one brother, George Barlow of Piketon; and one sister, Jeannie Williams of Piketon. Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Sunday at Botkin Funeral Home in Otway with Rev. Jody Harr officiating. Burial followed in the U.P. Cemetery on Bear Creek Road. Visitation was held 5 p.m. until 9 pm Saturday and one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
