About | Joni Anders (Mason) Monroe Joni A. Monroe, 53, of Snohomish, WA, was received into the loving arms of Jesus Christ on February 14, 2011 following a well-fought battle with breast cancer. Joni was born on July 13, 1957 in Columbus, OH. She lived in Piketon, OH until she met and married the love of her life, John Monroe. John and Joni were married on January 1, 1989 in Naples, FL. Soon after; they started their family and joyfully welcomed their three daughters into the world, Chelsea, Michelle, and Taylor. Joni's family remained her number one priority throughout life, Joni was actively involved in her children's lives through school and extra curricular activities. Joni's greatest joy came from surrounding herself with kids. Joni worked as an Education Assistant at Totem Falls Elementary, an Early Childhood Director at Gold Creek Community Church, and a teachers aid at Kids at the Creek preschool. All who knew her received Joni's gift of patience and compassion. In Joni's spare time, she enjoyed volunteering at the church, walking her beloved four-legged companions, and maintaining an active lifestyle. Joni had a strong faith in God and was at peace with the plan he had for her. Joni is survived by her husband, John; daughters, Chelsea 22, Michelle 19, and Taylor 16; her sister, Chris; and brothers, Marc and Bill (Kathy) Mason. Joni also leaves behind three nephews, Bobby, Tommy, and Timmy. Joni was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Mason; and her grandmother, Belvia Offenbaker. The family would like to thank our church, friends, and hospice workers for providing unconditional support during this time. A memorial service for Joni will be held at Gold Creek Community Church, in Mill Creek, WA, on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at 3 p.m. A reception will be held immediately after.
