| About | Karen Lynn Doherty, 52, of Powell, Ohio, died Monday, May 16, 2011 at her home. She was born June 12, 1958 in Ashland, Kentucky, daughter of the late James Milford and Lois Erma (Singleton) Boyce. On May 24, 1980, Karen was united in marriage to Brian Allen Doherty who survives. Also surviving are one son, Eric Allen Doherty of Columbus, Ohio; one daughter, Kara P. Arthur and husband, Warren of Copley, Ohio; two granddaughters, Kaci Madison Minshall and Hallie Jo Arthur; three step-grandchildren, Hannah, Lindsay and Austin Arthur; nieces and nephews, Tracy Lightle, Jodie Nichols, Jaime Wooldridge, Sandy Boyce, Josh, Rachel, and Gina Toccalino; also several great-nieces and nephews; one brother, Guy S. Boyce and wife, Connie of Gahanna, Ohio; two sisters, Debra Ruckel and husband, Keith of Waverly, Ohio and Jo Anna Adams and husband, Jeffrey of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; one sister-in-law, Brenda Toccalino of Livonia, Michigan; and mother and father-in-law, Pam and Don Doherty of Salisbury, North Carolina. In addition to her parents, a grandson Dalton Minshall and a brother-in-law Michael Toccalino preceded Karen in death. Karen was a former Planning Coordinator, Department of Weatherization, Columbus and a member of St. Peters Church, Worthington, Ohio. Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at the BOYER FUNERAL HOME in Waverly with Father William P. Hahn, officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery, Denver Road, Waverly. Friends may call at the funeral home 4-7 p.m. Saturday and from 1 p.m. until the service on Sunday.
