About | Laddie J. Ledford Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday for Laddie J. Ledford, 19 of Beaver, Rt. 2, at the Church with Rev. Sidney Snyder officiating. Burial followed in Bailey’s Chapel Cemetery under the direction of the Howe Co. funeral Home of Piketon. A 1964 graduate at Piketon High School, the young man died at 9 a.m. Thursday, August 5, in the Pike County Hospital where he had been a patient for 17 days. Born on June 17, 1945 in Detroit, Mich., he was the only son of the late Laddie E. and Susie M. (Bailey) Ledford. His father, Laddie E. Ledford, was accidentaly killed in the cave-in of a trench while working on the former Wakefield School property. On July 8, 1953. The only survivor is his mother, who resides at their home on Beaver Rt.2, in the Shyville community. Young Ladford was a member of the Wakefield Chapter, Improved Order of Redmen Lodge.
