About | Lois E. Carson, 75, of Marple Ave., Piketon, Ohio, passed away Monday June 8, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born October 31, 1939 at Wakefield, Ohio, daughter of the late Clyde and Gladys Williams Artis. Surviving are two daughters, Theresa Parmeter and husband Richard, and Debbie Basye both of Piketon; three grandchildren, Justin Parmeter and wife Jill of Conway, South Carolina, Krystle Burton and husband Jake of Piketon, and Ariel Basye of Columbus, Ohio; a great granddaughter, Lily Parmeter; four sisters, Bonnie Colegrove of London, Ohio, Carol Carey of Grove City, Ohio, Fannie Elliott of Lima, Ohio and Pat Mayberry of Ashville, Ohio; three brothers, Jim Artis of Grove City, Ohio, Ralph Artis of Gig Harbor, Washington and Bill Artis of Wakefield, Ohio. In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by a son Kenton Carson; a great grandson, Gavin Parmeter; four brothers, Russ, June, John and Kenny Artis as well as a sister, Winona Barnhart. Lois was a retired secretary for the Superintendent’s office of Scioto Valley Local School District in Pike County, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Piketon. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday June 14, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church in Piketon, with Pastor Jon Black officiating. Calling hours will not be observed.
